Hi everyone! I couldn't let Small Business Saturday pass by without sharing a company I'd been dying to try. I first found KWEEN Cosmetics on Twitter via the makeup world, and came to find out it was Brown/Latina owned, so you know I was eager to share it with you all! I was blessed in that Maria, the owner, beat me to the punch and was generous enough to send me a package! KWEEN Cosmetics was just launched earlier this year, is cruelty free, and serves to provide makeup for women of every complexion, no matter the color or undertone.
The package I received included was beautiful. KWEEN Cosmetics' packaging is truly beautiful, living up to its regal name with black and gold labels and packaging. In this package, I received one luxury setting powder in 'Butter Pecan' and a lip gloss set in 'Nude Galore', which includes five lip glosses. Believe it or not, I've actually already posted these products on my IG story! Recently, I did a full face, including the Butter Pecan setting powder. It was the perfect shade for my skin, and had no flashback!
The lip gloss set includes (from left to right) nude shades 'Xochi', 'Itza', 'Xipe', 'Yaretzi', and 'Xochipilli'. These names are all significant to Aztec or Mayan culture. I've included photos of lip swatches below! (P.S. I'm not wearing any lip liner or lipstick underneath these swatches.) KWEEN Cosmetics' lip glosses are the size of your average NYX lipgloss, and they are the most comfortable lip glosses I've ever worn. I wore 'Xochi' the same day I tried the setting powder and I kept forgetting I had it on! It was long lasting and hydrating, yet not sticky. Both 'Xochi' and 'Xochipilli' differ from the other three in that their shades have a very subtle shimmer/sparkle.
I love being able to find brands like KWEEN Cosmetics, who are trying to be inclusive of all skin tones. On their website you'll also find lip liners, lip glosses, liquid lipstick, brow pomade, eyelashes, setting powders, and highlighting powders. Maria hopes to continue producing new products, such as foundation, according an interview with Galore Mag, so I'll be on the lookout for those!
