Nola Skinsentials: Becoming a #NolaBabe

It is officially autumn. Which means, it's getting cold. No more being naturally hydrated by the humidity outside, but rather welcoming the dry, cold air of winter. Our skin's worst nightmare.

This year I told myself that I would make it my mission to get both my husband and I on a skincare routine. I follow a few companies on social media and decided on one in particular for our new skincare journey.

I wanted to make sure it wouldn't kill my pockets, but that it was something that worked, something natural, and I wanted to help support a small business.

Nola Skinsentials is a black and female owned, vegan, cruelty-free skincare company that was launched in February of 2017. I'd been following via social media for a while, now, and their customer service, testimonials, and overall vibe really had me sold. So I went ahead and purchased seven products for both me and my husband.

My husband has oily, acne prone skin, with enlarged pores, acne scarring, and some hyperpigmentation. To start him off on his brand new skin regimen, I purchased him the:

Glycolic Face Wash - An effective first step in a skincare routine focused on combating comedonal acne (blackheads and enlarged pores). It's specially formulated to deeply penetrate pores and clear the skin of excess sebum and dirt. Glycolic acid aids in clearing dead, dull skin and freeing your face from congestion.

Witches Brew Toner Water - A multimate-purpose acne fighting toner, specially formulated for those suffering with oily and acneprone skin. While the tea tree oil reduces the appearance of acne scars and marks, the witch-hazel closes pores and tightens skin. Will treat existing and emerging acne breakouts by cleansing out congested pores.

Revitalizing Skin Loving Serum - Brighten up your day and your overall complexion by refreshing your skin with an organic lemon peel and Vitamin A serum. #BYEBYEACNESCARS

Exfoliating Glycolic Night Creme - A gentle exfoliant that removes dead and dull skin from your face. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid which is able to penetrate deeper into the skin and effectively treat a variety of skin types. Benefits include: helps decrease blackheads, clears pores of excess sebum and dirt/bacteria, brightens skin, helps even out skin texture.

Glycolic Intensive Mask - A luxurious masque formulated with Glycolic Acid that gently sloughs away dead skin and loosens sebum within the pores.

I have combination skin, with hormonal acne, with a tendency for hypopigmentation in the summer. I purchased the:

Gentle Cleanser - Especially formulated for individuals with sensitive or normal skin. Infused with all natural, soothing ingredients such as Eucalyptus and Peppermint that help soften and cleanse your skin. Great for revitalizing dull skin after cleanses, so you won’t have to worry about losing that beautiful glow!

Rejuvenate Skin Loving Serum - An active combination of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and fresh Sea Kelp to nourish your skin leaving it with a nice healthy glow.

One thing I really appreciate about Nola's website is that they provide directions on how to use, products that go well together, and sometimes even include the average shelf life of a product! Also, their processing, shipping, and delivery lasted a whopping three days. Amazing. I can't wait to see how these products work! To get updates, make sure you follow my Instagram.

Nola Skinsentials offers skin consultations, serums, cleansers, toners, masks, and much more. To find out more about their products you can visit their website, or follow them on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
